History
La Casa Blanca De Vigan Hotel stands within one of Vigan City’s most prominent and famous landmark – the Calle Crisologo.
The Calle Crisologo, a cobblestoned street where the heart of Vigan heritage resides harmonizes traditional and modern vibe. La Casa Blanca De Vigan Hotel was built from Syquia building which was constructed by Gregorio Ruperto Syquia in 1927.
Even if the Philippines was a colony of the United States of America during that time, the influence of European architecture was truly apparent in the country’s infrastructure designs. There were numerous historic structures following the Art Deco or Neo- colonialist style such as the Manila Metropolitan Theater in Manila and the Syquia building in Vigan, Ilocos Sur.
The concept of a towering building that housed businesses was already well-known in Manila and throughout the rest of the world. The building mirrored a typical Chinese merchant style structure where there were stores selling various wares on the first floor. The second floor houses the bodega and living quarters.

Vigan Inabel
Inabel is a woven fabric the Ilocos region boasts to produce. It came from the root word abel, which means to weave in Ilocano.
Local tailors and designers use the inabel fabric on blankets, pillowcases, table runners, bags, and even the traditional Filipiniana outfit. It makes one’s creation stand out because of its versatility and ingenuity.
Experience traditional weaving with the abel loom displayed at the La Casa Blanca De Vigan’s lobby. You can have a glimpse of the process of inabel cloth production.
Vigan Kalesa
Have you ever wondered how people traveled in the past? Wonder no more, the kalesa is here to complete your Vigan experience!
Kalesa is a horse-drawn carriage used as a major form of transportation during the Spanish colonial era. Let La Casa Blanca De Vigan greet you with a smile and a kalesa displayed at the hotel entrance.
Vigan Empanada
Your food crawl is incomplete without the Vigan empanada. The local delicacy consists of shredded papaya, egg, and meat (usually Vigan longganisa, a locally-made sausage) which are placed in the middle of an orange dough and fried. Dip it in sukang Iloko (Ilocano vinegar) and delight yourself with a burst of a salty-sour mix.
